“Single’s Inferno” Fan-Detectives Found Evidence That A Couple Was Dating IRL
Netflix‘s Single’s Inferno is one of its most popular Korean reality shows. Many fans who tune for love and drama are still interested in the couples after the show ends.
During Season 1, two contestants who had an extremely whirlwind journey on the show: Kang So Yeon and Oh Jin Taek.
In the first episode, the two had instant chemistry. Jin Taek even said that he didn’t want to go to “paradise,” the hotel away from the island, with anyone but So Yeon. Yet, in the next episode, Jin Taek went back on his words by inviting Shin Ji Yeon. Both viewers and castmates, including Song Ji A, wanted to know where Jin Taek’s true loyalties lay.
While the show was still airing, netizens used their detective skills to find evidence that So Yeon and Jin Taek were end game and, moreover, still dating in real life. They noticed that in a recent video on So Yeon’s YouTube channel, Jin Taek seemed to be with her in Jeju; a figure that looked a lot like him was spotted in the background shot.
Jin Taek shared a photo on Instagram wearing the same sweatshirt seen on the person in the video.
Netizens also pointed out that the silver suitcase Jin Taek was carrying in the Instagram picture could be spotted in So Yeon’s video.
Need more evidence? Netizens have. On Instagram, Jin Taek liked So Yeon’s tennis photos, but fans noticed that he also plays tennis at the same courts as So Yeon.
In his own photo, taken on the same day, Jin Taek wore than outfit that perfectly matched the man in So Yeon’s tennis photo.
As the CEO and style advisor of the South Korean brand, Ascottage, Jin Taek modeled clothing on the brand’s Instagram…
…and So Yeon was spotted wearing a hat from that brand while playing golf.
Interestingly, netizens also noticed that Jin Taek has been going through So Yeon’s old pictures and liking them. Some of these pictures were taken before the show was filmed.
When two people are in a relationship, there is no doubt that they will have met each other’s friends and family. At the time, Jin Taek’s friends followed So Yeon on Instagram, and Jin Taek followed So Yeon’s brother.
