Here’s The “Tricky” Song All The SM Entertainment Trainees Sing During Their Evaluations, According To SHINee’s Taemin

SHINee‘s Taemin gave fans a little glimpse into the lives of SM Entertainment trainees!

In 2019, Taemin was a guest on Yu Huiyeol‘s Sketchbook. During the show, Taemin revealed that there was a song he practiced almost constantly as a trainee, and the song was a popular choice among other trainees, too. He said every trainee chose to sing the song at least once.

The song was none other than “That I Was Once By Your Side” by Toy, Yu Huiyeol’s project band, and Kim Yeon Woo. This emotional song was released in 1996, and it’s full of powerful belts and impressive vocal moments.

Taemin thought the song was produced by SM Entertainment back then because it was so popular among the trainees. Taemin also said “That I Was Once By Your Side” was “tricky” and that he still doesn’t feel as if he’s mastered the song.

Although he said he didn’t feel like he was good at singing “That I Was Once By Your Side,” Taemin proved himself wrong with a beautiful cover of the song!

“That I Was Once By Your Side” is a beautiful song, and we can definitely see why all of the SM Entertainment trainees would want to show off their skills by singing it!
