Speculation Regarding Scooter Braun’s Involvement In CL’s Music Delays Arise Online Amidst His Controversy With Taylor Swift
CL fans have been (not so) patiently waiting for her new music for quite some time now, and fans (and CL herself) have often pointed to YG Entertainment as the reason for the delays. Fans now believe that Scooter Braun may be an added cause given his ongoing controversy regarding the purchase of Taylor Swift‘s music catalog.
For those who may not be aware, CL is signed to Scooter Braun’s company for her American promotions. CL has said that she’s recorded 200+ songs that have never seen the light of day even though her comeback has been teased by both Braun and YG Entertainment since 2015.
On June 30, she began liking posts defending Scooter’s character online. One such post was Justin Bieber‘s open letter to Taylor Swift regarding the controversy.

Although CL was liking posts in support of Scooter, a tweet from musician Jaime Brooks hinted that Scooter may have actually had a hand in the lockdown of certain K-Pop stars in America.
k-pop fans probably have more cause to be angry at scooter braun than anyone and i really hope one day they find out why

Fans immediately began to speculate that this was referring to CL, as she is the only K-Pop idol that is directly connected to Scooter Braun.
Indirectly telling us he played a part at destroying CL's career too https://t.co/HhRobnHauB

Other fans, however, think this statement refers to non-YG Entertainment affiliated K-Pop acts.
Y’all I think it’s because scooter braun worked with yg to block radio play for kpop artists and also scooter wants to own Taylor’s music it sort of makes sense that’s why she tweeted that.

Fans believe that YG Entertainment and Scooter Braun have been using their influence to block the success of K-Pop artists in America. In 2018 Ariana Grande liked tweets about Scooter being involved in getting Kris Wu‘s album removed from iTunes charts which fans are looking at as proof for this speculation. Since BTS is the biggest K-Pop act in the world right now, some think that this may point to them specifically.
If Scooter did anything near BTS, then it’s over for him…
We will make sure of that 🙈

So far none of the parties involved have spoken on the matter, but fans of Taylor Swift and K-Pop stans are ready to band together in support of their faves.
