Super Junior‘s Heechul is famously close to Son Dam Bi, even seeking her advice before dating anyone.
And, actually, it’s because he’s so close to Dam Bi that he earned himself the nickname “Condom Kim”! “How,” you ask? Well, it’s because she gave him that nickname herself!
Dam Bi explained that Heechul always carries her home when she’s drunk, so she feels safe with him.
Shin Dong Yup observed that female celebrities always feel safe with Heechul.
Makes sense, right? They say a condom is “safe”, and since Heechul is safe, he’s “Condom Kim”! While it isn’t the most flattering nickname, the meaning behind it is pretty great.
