Taeyang Reveals The Most Meaningful Thing He Got From Being In BIGBANG

In an interview in the April edition of ELLE magazine, done prior to his enlistment, BIGBANG‘s Taeyang discussed how it feels to have been a part of the group for 13 years and what it means to him.

Taeyang reflected, “Time goes by so quickly. I can’t believe it has been 13 years already.”

BIGBANG debuted in 2006, through a survival TV program Real Documentary BIGBANG that followed members’ training periods. The group immediately became a mega rookie with hit songs like “This Love” and “We Belong Together”.

As for the most meaningful experience or accomplishment he had as a part of BIGBANG, Taeyang chose his groupmates.

“The fact that I met BIGBANG members is the most precious and meaningful thing that happened to me. Looking back now, meeting the members and the staff we worked with has carried such an importance in my life.” — Taeyang

Throughout the interview, Taeyang repeatedly expressed deep appreciation for not only BIGBANG members, but those who helped him in producing music and performing on stage.

“I actually don’t think I was born with any special talent. At most, I’d say I have the right personality to do this kind of work… There are so many talented people around the world. What’s more important is being able to find the right people and getting them to help me. No matter how much talent I may have, without the help of the people who are sincere about what they do, I wouldn’t have been able to shine.” — Taeyang

Taeyang acknowledged that he is the artist he is thanks to the people around him who are helping.

“I think I’m loved far more for what I have or deserve. I wouldn’t be the artist that I am without the help of those around me.” — Taeyang

Taeyang promised, “I look forward to making great music and putting on fresh performances again, as soon as I complete my duty and return.”
