Thai Burglar Falls Asleep While Robbing House Belonging To A Police Officer

Some people just don’t seem to have luck on their side!

Last March 2021, a burglar hailing from Thailand let his guard down while robbing a house.

22-year old Athit Kin Khunthud was stalking a local neighborhood in the early morning looking to find something of value to steal. He broke into a random house using a tool kit. Tired after the long day, fatigue took over and he decided to risk taking a nap.

He chose the poster-clad room of the daughter of the house to sleep in. Khuntid opened the air-conditioning unit, took off his shirt, and burrowed comfortably under the blankets.

The subsequent video of him being woken up quickly went viral. The man had apparently chosen the worst house to break into! Police sword officer Jiam Prasert of the Wichian Buri District police station in Phetchabun Province was the one who found and arrested him.

Officer Prasert woke up at 2AM from the noise of the air-conditioner in his daughter’s room. As she was out of town at the time, he quickly jumped to his feet to investigate. He found the sleepy theft inside and called for back-up.

The team of police apparently needed to shout loudly in order for Khuntid to wake up. He eventually jumped awake, looking around in confusion. He did not fight or otherwise contest his arrest.
