It Took 13 Years For These “Boys Over Flowers” Co-Stars To Reunite
If you’re a K-Drama lover, there are certain series that you will definitely have heard of. One of these classic K-Dramas that may have even been some people’s first taste of the genre, was the 2009 series Boys Over Flowers.
The series is based on a Japanese manga and follows the story of a working-class girl who gets tangled up in the lives of a group of wealthy young men in her elite high school. Geum Jan Di (played by Goo Hye Sun) is the daughter of a cleaner who is offered a scholarship to attend the prestigious Shinhwa High School.
When she arrives, she learns about the iconic F4, who are four of the most popular and wealthiest boys in the school. They include Gu Jun Pyo (Lee Min Ho), Yoon Ji Hu (Kim Hyun Joong), So Yi Jung (Kim Bum), and Song Woo Bin (Kim Joon). Despite their good looks, they were seen as bullies.
Aside from the main characters, Geum Jan Di and Gu Jun Pyo, the other characters are integral to the show. Kim Bum played So Yi Jung, whose family owns the country’s biggest art museum. When his brother dies, he becomes known as a womanizer until he falls for Jan Di’s best friend.
Despite being part of the supporting cast, Lee Min Jung also caught the attention of fans at the time for her portrayal of Jun Pyo’s fiancée, Ha Jae Kyung.
Over the 15 years since the show first aired, there has been evidence of some of the cast reuniting and sharing their meeting with fans on social media.
Well, it “only” took Kim Bum and Lee Min Jung 13 years to have a reunion, and it was enough to send the internet into a meltdown. Lee Min Jung shared a beautiful picture of a sunset…
But when fans swiped through the photoset, the caption, which said, “Met F4 at a Montblanc event,” suddenly made more sense as the actress was joined by Kim Bum.
In the photos, it seemed like neither had aged as they flaunted flawless visuals and charisma. With Lee Min Jung leaning on Kim Bum’s shoulder, it was like netizens had stepped into an alternative ending to the series.
Kim Bum even replied to the comment, saying, “It’s been a while,” and referring to her as Ha Jae Kyung.
In the comments of the photos, netizens couldn’t get over the fact that neither had aged and how weird it was seeing the two of them together after so many years. One user shared the photos on social media, and it was retweeted thousands of times, with netizens shocked by the interaction.
With the show now celebrating its 15th anniversary, hopefully, it isn’t too long before we get a full cast reunion. For many netizens, Boys Over Flowers is one of the most iconic K-Dramas ever and will never be forgotten.
