“True Beauty” Cast Shares Final Thoughts As The Series Comes To A Close
Before the premiere of the final episode, the True Beauty cast shared their thoughts on the beloved K-Drama that exploded on Twitter each week.
True Beauty is a rom-com based on a popular webtoon about Lim Ju Gyeong (Moon Ga Young), who uses makeup to cover insecurities about her looks. After she meets Lee Su Ho (Cha Eun Woo), they share secrets and heal.
The two, of course, were the first to comment.
Maybe it’s because we filmed nonstop for seven months, but True Beauty being over hasn’t hit me yet. I met great senior actors, teachers, and friends and I was so happy. It’s unfortunate that I have to say goodbye now.
—Moon Ga Young
It feels like it’s only been a few days since I first met Su Ho, but it’s already time to say goodbye. I experienced a lot while living as Su Ho, and had a great time. So many people worked hard from the summer to winter. I want to once again thank the director, writer, and all of the actors and staff.
—Cha Eun Woo
Both added that they wanted to thank the viewers for loving their characters all through filming. They hope to give us even more content as they grow to be better actors. There are rumors of Moon Ga Young reviewing an offer for a fantasy K-Drama called Link: Eat, Love, Die.
Hwang In Yeop starred as a fan-favorite, Han Seo Jun, who has somewhat of a tsundere attitude. Like his co-stars, he thanked True Beauty viewers for their love and support.
Thank you to the viewers who loved and related with Seo Jun. I think this will become an unforgettable memory. I will continue reminiscing about Seo Jun for a long time. Although True Beauty has come to an end, I hope it’s a drama that will be remembered as a drama with amazing memories.
—Hwang In Yeop
He concluded by thanking fans once again and assuring them that he would come back bigger and better. There have been rumors that he will star in the adaptation of Annarasumanara, though some believe it is just a fan casting.
Park Yoo Na played Kang Su Jin, who has quite a cold heart because of the secrets she hides.
I sincerely thank the viewers who watched and supported True Beauty until the end. I’m also thankful to the actors and staff who worked with me through the heat of last summer to this chilly winter. I don’t think I’ll forget the growth I experienced while living as Su Jin. It’s always sad when saying goodbye, but I believe there will be another beginning and new relationships in the future.
—Park Yoo Na
Kang Min Ah played Lim Ju Gyeong’s energetic friend Choi Su Ah. She expressed like the others that she couldn’t believe that True Beauty was over.
Thank you for being with True Beauty until the end. I enjoyed acting as Su Ah as I was able to show different sides of myself. I will work to impress in more diverse projects, so please look forward to it.
—Kang Min Ah
She will be starring in Seen From A Distance, Green Spring, along with Park Ji Hoon and Lee Shin Young.
Im Se Mi took on the role of Lim Ju Gyeong’s older sister, Lim Hee Gyeong. She was very well-loved by fans for her romance with Ju Gyeong’s teacher, Han Jun Woo (Oh Eui Shik).
I was thankful to be the eldest sister of a warm family and to be with my ‘grapefruit’ Han Jun Woo. Every moment was happy and fun. I think I will remember this drama for a long time. Whenever you experience moments of hesitation and frustration in life, I hope thinking of Lim Hee Gyeong will give you the strength to feel like anything is possible.
—Im Se Mi
True Beauty may be over, but there are still so many K-Dramas to discover! Stay strong, everyone.
