TWICE Cheers On NewJeans At SBS’s “Inkigayo,” And Their Reaction Is Too Relatable
NewJeans‘ promotional schedule for their debut mini album is nearing the end, and they’ve had an extremely impressive debut.
The group took home five music show awards for their title song, “Attention,” which had fellow K-Pop stars dancing and singing along to the catchy hit.
Today, NewJeans won their fifth award for “Attention” on SBS‘s Inkigayo; they were nominated for both “Attention” and their song “Hype Boy.”
NewJeans’ Inkigayo promotions this week overlapped with TWICE, who just made their comeback with their title track “Talk That Talk” off of their eleventh mini-album, Between 1 & 2.
TWICE’s Sana recently revealed herself as a fan of the junior group when playing a guessing game with her fellow members. Sana had to guess the topic was NewJeans, and when she correctly answered, she sent the rookie group a heart and TWICE performed the signature moves from “Attention.”
The two groups were able to cross paths officially today, and they couldn’t contain their excitement. When NewJeans accepted their trophy, they bowed to every group leaving the stage.
The last group was TWICE, and their interactions were adorably heartwarming. The senior group excitedly cheered them on, leaving NewJeans in disbelief.

As TWICE was walking to leave, Chaeyoung danced to “Attention,” and Dahyun, Tzuyu, and Sana cheered on the rookie idols as NewJeans cheered back. As the rookie group prepared to sing their song for the encore stage, they couldn’t help fangirling over the third-generation group.
Earlier in the show, TWICE was also seen before their interview lovingly watching NewJeans on the monitor.

After the show, TWICE’s Nayeon excitedly shared in a video that she danced to “Attention” in front of NewJeans. She then jokingly shared her disappointment that she wasn’t able to dance to “Hype Boy” since NewJeans didn’t perform it on Inkigayo this week.
