TWICE’s Jeongyeon Wrote A Message To Her Members About Their Contract Renewal, And They Read It Out Loud
When news was released that all members of JYP Entertainment girl group TWICE renewed their contracts, people were shocked. It’s practically unprecedented for a K-Pop group to successfully stay together after hitting the 7-year mark.
And according to leader Jihyo, they made sure that no one was pressured to renew “because it’s our lives.” Luckily, all nine members truly wanted to stay in the group!
Jeongyeon even sent her members a sweet message to their group chat, which she allowed fans to hear. During an episode of Idol Human Theater, they asked her if they could read it out loud, and she said yes.
Jihyo took the phone and read the short but sweet letter.
In it, Jeongyeon recognized that negotiating contracts is official business, but she couldn’t help but be sentimental about it. She opened up about how she genuinely loves her members and would hate to grow distant from them.
What I will say may give you goosebumps, but… Contract resigning is something we had to do as an official procedure, but I really feel that all members are so precious to me, and I have no parts of growing apart from you girls.
— Jeongyeon’s message, read by Jihyo
She also admitted that she occasionally finds them “more precious than family,” confirming that their bond is stronger than anyone can imagine. It’s no wonder they all renewed their contracts!
Sometimes, you girls are more precious than family…so I don’t want to read it. We will be together for longer!
— Jeongyeon’s message, read by Jihyo
TWICE were all smiles as Jihyo read the message. They reacted by jokingly pointing out that she chose them over her own family, who would be disappointed if they heard about it. Of course, there’s no questioning Jeongyeon’s love for either of them!
You~ You said we’re more precious than your family. Her family will be disappointed.
