The Unexpected Way BTS’s Suga Ends His Solo Concerts Is Explained
BTS‘s Suga has successfully completed 25 shows on his solo world tour, SUGA | Agust D “D-DAY,” which began in April 2023.
With only three August shows remaining (encore concerts in Seoul) a “world tour report” has been released on Weverse Magazine.
Suga has captivated fans on his world tour, bringing high energy, his fun personality, and incredible talent each night for an unforgettable experience.
Among the many memorable moments on Suga’s tour, ARMYs noticed one consistent and unexpected detail.
Most K-Pop concerts conclude with an ending-ment, where the artist wraps their show with a parting message for fans.
After the encore song, the artist often lingers on stage, taking time to say goodbye to fans.
In contrast, Suga performs his encore songs and abruptly turns around and walks offstage while the venue lights turn back on, ending the show in iconic fashion.

The abrupt ending, of course, follows a concert filled with Suga’s thoughtful and fun interactions with the audience.
His walk off stage has earned attention among netizens, and ARMYs now have the inside scoop on why Suga concludes his show in that way.
In the world tour report, BIGHIT MUSIC’s head of Performance Directing Team 1 Lee Byung Eun explains the loaded meaning behind Suga’s stage exit.
Suga’s solo album D-DAY was the conclusion of his Agust D trilogy, and explores Suga’s on-stage and off-stage personas.
This exploration was carried into Suga’s tour, and the “elimination” of his personas was portrayed in the show’s production.
‘A production trying to break with the past’… is a reflection of the intention of Suga’s voluntary elimination and liberation of all the personas created by Suga himself.
— Lee Byung Eun
Suga’s “calm” exit from the stage, without the accompaniment of music and with the lights of the venue shining bright, was a way to show “the real Suga.”
As for Suga’s calm exit without any ending remarks or farewells immediately after performing “The Last”… the moment the song ends, we cut off everything even before Suga exits the stage. So, there’s no background music, and lights are turned on immediately, cutting off any lingering emotions from the performance. And as Suga turns around and walks away at that moment, those three seconds show the real Suga. We wanted the audience, staff, and Suga to just be themselves for that fleeting moment.
— Ha Jung Jae, Lead Professional at the HYBE 360 Concert Production 1 Studio
The revealing moment represents “beauty of empty space” and portrays Suga reaching a “moment of liberation” as he breaks free of his past personas to be “reborn.”
The “fleeting moment”… seems to embody the liberation from the obligation to show and convey something in a performance. By the end of the performance, which shows Suga’s present self through the beauty of empty space, Suga finally reaches a moment of liberation where he breaks free from the names he has created in the past and is reborn.

While some aspects of his concert remain consistent, other moments have gone off-script.
