Korean model and social media influencer Taek has often earned attention for his “lookalike” visuals with BTS’s V, especially in specific photos and doing specific poses.
In May 2022, Taek’s resemblance to BTS’s V drew him into a whirlwind of reports as a photo of two people driving on Jeju Island were believed to be BTS’s V and BLACKPINK‘s Jennie, though many believed the photos to be edited and the identities of the individuals were never confirmed.
As netizens investigated the legitimacy of the photos, they realized Taek was in Jeju Island around the same time the photo began to circulate, which led some to falsely identify him as the man in the photo.
In a now-deleted post on his Instagram, Taek adamantly denied that he was the man in the photo and shared that he was distressed by the rumors and hateful comments he was receiving in response to being falsely identified as the man.
It’s been almost two years since he made headlines during the incident, and the handsome model has been busier than ever.
Taek remains active on social media, updating over 1.1 million followers on Instagram with his international travels.
The talented model recently graduated from Korea University’s business school, and through his studies, he’s stayed busy modeling for luxury brands.
Taek is signed with Mgmt Prjct, a talent and artist management company, and recently attended fashion week events in Milan and Paris, including the Valentino 2024-25 Fall/Winter Men’s Collection show.
He continues to stun netizens and fashion brands with his gorgeous visuals and charm, receiving brand gifts and free luxury and fashion items to endorse as a rising star.
