Malaysian Girl Bullied For Her Skin Condition Becomes A Model, Takes The Internet By Storm
Evita Delmundo from Sabah, Malaysia is inspiring women all over the world by auditioning for the Miss Universe 2018 pageant.
20 year old Evita was born with moles covered all along her body.
Due to her unique appearance, she faced multiple hardships while growing up.
“It definitely wasn’t easy for me. I got bullied in primary school and the other kids would call me names like ‘Monster’ or ‘Chipsmore’, which was really tough to swallow as a young girl.
I was really timid and I shied away as I didn’t know how to deal with it all.”

She even contemplated about removing her moles to fit the “beauty standard”.
“At first, I really wanted to [remove my moles]. But after seeking advice from doctors, I learned that it could be a risk to my health.
So I just had to accept that this is the body I’ve been given.
But now I’m grateful I didn’t change anything.”

But chose against it thanks to the love and support by her family and boyfriend.
Evita is proud to say that she’s embraced who she is and strives to inspire others to redefine beauty.
“Beauty is not just what’s on the outside; it’s not someone with the perfect face or the perfect body.
Beauty is who you are as a person and how you love yourself.
It’s never about perfection.”
— Evita Delmundo
Evita wants to share her story of self confidence by becoming Miss Universe 2018.
