ARMYs have been voting so much for BTS at the Billboard Music Awards that fans of Western artists have praised them for their dedication.
BTS is currently going up against huge western stars such as Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, and Shawn Mendes for the Top Social Artist award. Despite being only the first ever K-pop group to be nominated for a BBMA, BTS has been dominating the votes, taking fans of popular Western artists completely by surprise.
The Billboard Music Awards posted separate tweets telling fans to retweet to vote for their favorite artists. Many of the world’s biggest stars quickly gained a huge number of votes: Shawn Mendes is currently at about 23,000 retweets, Justin Bieber at 20,000, and Ariana Grande at 10,000. Although these numbers are quite impressive, BTS has blown all of them out of the water with over 351,000 retweets.
Upon seeing how ridiculously high BTS’s votes were, other fans couldn’t help but congratulate ARMYs on their dedication and persistence.
