Woman “Betrays” Her Children, Leaving A Life-Changing Surprise In Her Will

Many agreed with her choice, however!

The death of a relative is always hard to go through, and the events surrounding it can also serve to stress those involved out further. A living woman in China recently surprised her relatives with an inclusion in her final will that likely left her kids feeling betrayed.

A woman in China with the surname Liu decided to cut her children out of her will before her death. Instead of splitting money between her three children, Liu has named her dogs and cats as the recipients of her 2.8 million dollar fortune.

The woman stated this is because her children rarely visited her, even when she was sick, while her pets remained by her side. Their neglect in her old age solidified her decision.

Many on social media agreed with Liu’s choice, saying that they would act similarly if their children neglected them.

How disappointed and heartbroken she must have been to make the decision not to leave anything to her children.

While it is not technically legal for her to leave the pets her funds, she was instructed on a workaround — a pet hospital will be given the money to care for the animals, with a person appointed to oversee the clinic to avoid any misappropriation of funds.

It is legal to do so as a man’s children in Shanghai unsuccessfully challenged their father’s will after he left his money to a kind cart owner instead of them.

An official from the Eastern China branch of the China Will Registration Center said they alerted Liu to the risks of putting all her money in the hands of the pet clinic before she made her final will, saying it’s possible for it to be changed again.

We told Auntie Liu that if her children change their attitude towards her, she could always alter her will again.
