A Rookie Boy Group Just Added 26 And 29-Year-Old Members
The age of K-Pop idols is a topic that often comes up when discussing groups. While NewJeans are an example of a younger group, several idols started at a very young age in the industry, like BoA and SHINee‘s Taemin.
As K-Pop fans diversify and more older fans emerge, it’s not a surprise that many look for older idols to be fans of. It was recently reported and well-received that a 26-year-old female trainee would debut soon.
A boy group has also attracted attention for the ages of its newly added members.
Last year, Nature Space Entertainment introduced a four-member group called XEED. The group officially debuted on December 1 with the mini album Dream Land.
Netizens were excited to learn about the group after it was revealed that the youngest member, Jaemin, was 26 years old internationally. At the time of debut, DOHA, the leader, was 30.
Unfortunately, just a month and a half after their debut, member RONI was announced to have departed the group “due to personal reasons.” Many wondered what would become of the group after the sudden departure.
The group announced they would return with their second mini album on August 1, 2023, and they would be adding two new members to the group!
New member UO was born on December 16, 1996, and previously debuted as a member of the group TST before their quiet disbandment. UO also made a solo debut, releasing his first mini-album earlier this year.
The second new member, Shun, was born on April 25, 1994, making him 29 years old. Before being added to XEED, he debuted as a member of TARGET before leaving the group in 2020.
As a five-member group, XEED successfully released “Blue,” the title track on their album of the same name. Adding these new members brought the average age of the group to 28!
We’re excited to see what XEED will bring us next!
