Yena Reveals The Idol Who Helped Her The Most With Her Solo Debut
Yena recently sat down with Stone Music Entertainment to read comments from her fans about her solo debut, “SMILEY.”
In the comments, her fans expressed their enjoyment of “SMILEY,” showering the idol with compliments about her talent and expressing their gratitude for giving them reasons to smile.
Yena was extremely grateful even as she admitted that she’s “really shy when it comes to reading compliments about [herself].”
As part of what the producers wanted Yena to discuss, they included a clip of her “first appearance in public.”
Although fans are now aware that the girl in a viral clip of SPEED‘s Choi Sung Min was, in fact, his younger sister, Yena, at the time fans had felt jealous of the supposed stranger the idol had pulled out of the crowd, hugged, and kissed the forehead of.
Later Sung Min explained that as it was one of SPEED’s last performances as a group, he was excited to share the moment with Yena, who was a trainee at the time.
In an episode of Singosik, Sung Min explained that he felt like he was “handing off the baton” to his younger sister for her to achieve her dream of becoming an idol.
And, of course, Yena did achieve her dream, first debuting with IZ*ONE and then recently starting her already incredibly successful solo career.
But Sung Min’s support of his sister did not stop with his last performance with SPEED. In fact, in her interview, Yena reveals that he has always supported her.
Yena explains that he took care of her a lot when he was in middle school. And even if it was cheesy at the time, she still really liked his gesture.
But she continues by saying that Sung Min also gave her a lot of support and advice with her solo debut.
And that for the two siblings sharing advice with each other or having discussions is a common occurrence.
She describes it as both of them having each other’s back.
Sung Min and Yena are definitely both lucky to have each other and have an incredible sibling bond anyone would be jealous of.
